Accelergen supports Thornton Northglenn Rotary Club Duck Derby
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THORNTON, Colo., July 7, 2025 – Renewable energy developer, Accelergen, is proud to have supported Northglenn-Thornton Rotary Club’s 2025 Duck Derby with a $5,000 Event Sponsorship to help the Rotary Club reach their goal of raising $32,000 to contribute back into the Northglenn-Thornton community throughout the year.
The Duck Derby supports the Northglenn-Thornton Rotary Club with its annual efforts to fund scholarships for college students, provide food for local food banks, send youth to annual Rotary leadership camps (RYLA), support CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties, and many more initiatives throughout the year. As Accelergen aims to become a community member of Adams County, it looks forward to supporting organizations such as the Northglenn-Thornton Rotary Club that enhance the community and provide valuable resources to its residents.
“We are happy to support the Northglenn-Thornton Rotary Club in its fundraiser to support Adams County throughout the year,” said Josh Skogen, Senior Vice President of Development at Accelergen. “We look forward to joining Adams County and participating as an active community member.
”Accelergen is proposing a 199MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) – named the Birdseye BESS – in unincorporated Adams County. This BESS will store excess energy at times when more energy is on the grid than is being used and will put that energy back onto the grid during times of high demand. This BESS will support Adams County’s transition to adopting clean energy, as renewable energy has fluctuating times of production – with peaks being during sunny and windy weather. Ultimately, widespread BESS adoption can lower customer energy bills by drawing less on production of energy from oil and gas refineries.
